Our work with this client was challenging and rewarding – a new step for Go Construct.
Edinburgh Arts & Picture Framers is a family run business in the heart of the Old Town in Edinburgh. They are passionate about Scottish art and artists, and as such they want to display their paintings and prints in the best light possible. Literally.
Go Construct were brought onto this project to design and install a bespoke lighting system for the gallery’s main floor. All artificial light changes the perceived colour of everything it illuminates, so EAPF required a daylight colour rendition to display the works of art as accurately as they could. With large windows the varying natural light worked against the team trying to maintain a constant level inside the building, but as with many other projects of ours, specialist technicians were sourced and consulted to make sure that the rig met the client’s requirements completely.
As a result of this work, not only can all of the art on Nicolson St be seen as it was originally intended, but the electricity consumption of the property was reduced by 60% saving over £20,000 over ten years.
